Ok I admit I’m a hopeless romantic; not just on Valentine’s Day but any time of year especially when I’m in a love relationship.  Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and for those of you who are short on imagination and running out of time, I thought I’d help you out a bit with 14 great suggestions that’s sure to win their heart…

Why not avoid the crowded restaurants and prepare his/her favorite meal at home?  Be sure to use the fine china and don’t forget the champagne, wine and candles too!

Send the kids to Grandma’s house and spend a romantic evening at home.  No TVs or phones allowed.  Talk, chase each other around the room, play some sexy music and slow dance to your favorite song.  If you don’t have a favorite song, may I suggest “Strip It Down” by Luke Bryan or Marvin Gaye’s “Lets Get It On”?  Either of those should get your hearts racing!

Renew your vows, recommit your love to one another, make some promises, dream about your future; relive some great moments from your past.

Enjoy a couple’s day at the spa; pedicures are fun too!

Why not go out of your way to deliver the flowers in person instead of letting the florist deliver them?  And please don’t bring them home from work at the end of the day like an afterthought; unless of course they’re a prelude to something bigger!  You can even surprise her with a beautiful bouquet first thing in the morning when she wakes up!

Write a poem or a love letter to the one you love.

Surprise your special someone by doing a few of the things that they’ve been nagging you about on their “honey-do-list”.

String a banner made of twine and construction paper hearts across the room. Let each heart proclaim all of the wonderful things that you love about them.  Start at the front door so they will see it the moment they walk in.

Express yourself with conversation hearts placed in their briefcase, lunchbox or purse; love notes are great too!

Surprise someone with their favorite Starbucks beverage or milkshake or smoothie or whatever tickles their fancy.

Save your money and make your own Valentine’s Day card; it will mean a lot more.  Unless of course you give Papyrus and they are a card and gift all in one!

Give none traditional gifts to the ones you love like romantic scented candles, their favorite bottle of wine with a card attached, pink stationery including a red pen to write with, pink or red nail polish.

Bake some Valentine’s Day cookies and deliver them to those who are lonely or alone.

And for the ladies who are not feeling so loved or lovely this Valentine’s Day, you may want to host a gathering of girlfriends where you can indulge in a little male bashing while watching a great chick flick like “Waiting To Exhale”.

Do you have some great ideas of your own?  If so, please feel free to share.

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone and may love find you wherever you are.
